Two-way conversation
You name the topic and the conversation opens there. When you get stuck, say it in your own language — the sentence is built in the language you are learning, shown and read aloud.
Sounds
The sounds your own language does not have. A Turkish speaker learning English finds 8 sound contrasts and 23 minimal pairs.
Learn by speaking
455 ready phrases under 8 headings. The largest is travel: 6 situations, 122 phrases.

Follow a talking face while phrases are read; the spoken word is highlighted.

Frequently asked
Do my conversations go to a server?
No. The conversation model is downloaded to the phone once and what you say does not leave it. Speech recognition runs on the device; where on-device recognition is unavailable the app turns listening off for that language instead of falling back to the network.
How much can I use for free?
Sounds and Watch are unlimited. Two-way conversation runs 5 minutes a day. The subscription removes that limit and the first 7 days are free.
Do I need an account?
No. There are no accounts, no sign-in and no ads.
